The Government discussed the refusal of veterinary certification of ready-made dairy products

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak discussed the issues of postponing the implementation of the electronic veterinary certification system (EVC) “Mercury”, the exclusion from the system of processed food products and its replacement with the labeling with representatives of food producers.

The meeting was confirmed in the Rosselkhoznadzor and Soyuzmoloko .In addition, the meeting participants said that the decisions on all issues related to the EVC will depend on the apparatus of the curator of the agro-industrial complex in the government – Alexey Gordeev.

At a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Gordeyev on May 29, the Ministry of Agriculture only proposed postponing the imposition of fines for violating EVC requirements. Currently, Deputy Prime Ministers – Kozak and Gordeev – agree on their positions, says one of the interlocutors of RBC.

Previously, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia believes that most regions are ready to introduce mandatory electronic veterinary certification from July 1, 2018.The Ministry of Agriculture is confident that the EVC will allow to introduce traceability of products, to protect consumers from low-quality and potentially dangerous products, to clear the market of falsification, closing access to it to unscrupulous producers.
